About projektika.net

The site is a bit of a testbed on a very cheap server. So writing scripts for such an environment is just fun. Of course, you can order more server capacity, but what's the point? If you can overcome obstacles with your mind alone, it's probably not worth it. It may take more time, but it is more enjoyable and many times cheaper :-)

There are several tools available that I have written or re-written for my own needs. To assist in the work of creating videos, statistics on music used, conversion, editing and checking subtitles, creating batch list projects for Apple Motion, transcription of videos into text or subtitles.

As I tweak or add something quite often, it may happen that something doesn't work. Just try again some time later, or the next day.

Some modules are paid for because I also pay for the use of computing power. Unfortunately nowadays you can't have everything for free.

Unfortunately the website is not, and will never ever be optimised for small screen resolutions or mobile devices. I don't have the time to do it, and several attempts have shown that it is completely pointless for me. On the other hand, I just don't like working on a small screen. It's too difficult for my eyes.

Audio Denoise

Audio Denoise

Automatic removal of noise and random background noises from the audio recording. It may not remove absolutely all sound artefacts, but if you can use one tool instead of a dozen or so plug-ins, you can use the time you save for your own development or to relax :-)

New version of the subtitles editor.

New version of the subtitles editor.

The new version allows you to create subtitles from scratch, load srt, vtt and similar files or transcribe audio to text. You can select a fragment from the whole video and transcribe only the part you are interested in. No need to upload an hour's worth of material if you only want to transcribe 10 minutes :-) The editor is constantly being updated with new features, especially with regard to the correct creation of subtitles in all language varieties. Only the audio is sent to the speech recognition systems, so you have complete privacy. For this reason, 99% of all operations are performed in your browser. As this is a beta version, there may be occasional bugs.

Scene detection, create tiled images or save them as individual images

Scene detection, create tiled images or save them as individual images

If you don't have FFmpeg or a similar tool to hand and need to save frames from your video, you can use this. You can create a thumbnail file in a tiled image or save all detected scenes as separate files. It also creates a timecode list of detected cuts and a marker list for Avid. For simple cataloguing, so you don't have to search through the whole film to find a shot, this is all you need.

List of used music on Avid

List of used music on Avid

Need a quick count of how many music tracks you will use in your film production? A producer calls and you have to send him a breakdown straight away? I personally often have situations like this, because I always forget that I need to collate the amount of music used. While in FCP, DaVinci or similar it is quite easy (maybe not so easy), in Avid I have always had a problem. Reading something out of an Avid edl is just tragic, at least for me. So I wrote myself a simple script that does it for me. If you have the same problem, feel free to use it. It may not be artificial intelligence but it just works. It's not very precise, but I don't work for Hollywood or the BBC, so I'm happy with a few seconds' accuracy.

Batch project Apple Motion

Batch project Apple Motion

Generate a batch list for Apple Motion from a csv file. Simply upload the csv file containing the data list and the Motion template file. Create hundreds of projects in moments. Each line in the csv file creates a separate project. Simply load them all into Compressor and render. If you often need a large number of repeating projects, this is the ideal solution.
